Whiskers 1.4 brings two features that power users have been asking for: SRT subtitle export and a completely rebuilt batch processing system.
SRT export
Subtitles are one of the most common use cases for transcription. Until now, exporting from Whiskers meant copying plain text and reformatting it yourself. With 1.4, you can export any transcript as an SRT file directly from the batch processing results.
Each SRT file includes accurate timestamps synced to the original audio. Import them into your video editor, subtitle tool, or media player and they'll line up with the spoken words.
Faster batch processing
We've rebuilt the batch queue from the ground up. The old system processed files sequentially. The new queue processes multiple files in parallel, using Apple Silicon's Neural Engine efficiently across concurrent transcription jobs.
In our testing, a batch of 10 five-minute audio files completes in roughly 40% less time than before. Your mileage will vary depending on hardware, but the improvement is consistent across all Apple Silicon Macs.
