The privacy problem with cloud transcription
Every time you use a cloud-based dictation service, your raw audio is uploaded to a remote server. That audio is processed, stored (sometimes indefinitely), and potentially used to train future models. You agreed to this in the terms of service you didn't read.
For most people, this feels abstract. But consider what you actually dictate: emails to colleagues, notes about clients, medical observations, legal arguments, journal entries. This is some of the most personal data you produce.
