Terms of Service

You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use Whiskers. If you use Whiskers on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Whiskers is available free of charge. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to install and use Whiskers for your own personal or internal business use. No purchase, subscription, account, or paid unlock is required.

• You may not resell, sublicense, lease, distribute, or make Whiskers available to third parties except as expressly permitted by us in writing.
• You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code from Whiskers except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
• All intellectual property rights in Whiskers, the website, branding, and related materials remain with Whiskers and its licensors.

Whiskers currently requires macOS 15 or later and is available only for Apple Silicon Macs. We may change, improve, suspend, or discontinue features or compatibility over time.

Optional providers used for cloud transcription or AI enhancement are outside our control and may change or become unavailable at any time.

Whiskers is local-first: core dictation can run on your Mac, and local content remains under your control. Whiskers collects anonymized product-usage analytics for feature and reliability insights, but those events do not contain audio, transcripts, files, screen contents, or personally identifiable information. • You may not use Whiskers in violation of applicable law or regulation.
• You may not use Whiskers to infringe the rights of others, distribute malicious content, or facilitate unlawful conduct.
• You are responsible for your own use of optional third-party APIs, including compliance with those providers' terms, billing, and usage restrictions.

Whiskers may interoperate with third-party services that you choose to configure or use, including cloud transcription engines and AI providers. You are responsible for any provider account, terms, billing, and usage limits. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, availability, or terms of those third parties.

We may provide updates, patches, or changes to Whiskers at our discretion. Some updates may be necessary for compatibility, security, or continued functionality. We do not guarantee that every feature will remain available indefinitely.

Whiskers is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Whiskers and its affiliates, officers, employees, licensors, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, goodwill, use, or data, arising out of or related to your use of Whiskers.

Because Whiskers is provided free of charge, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to Whiskers is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

We may suspend access to the website or support if you materially breach these Terms, engage in abuse, or create legal or security risk. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including those relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law.

Unless applicable law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the operator of Whiskers is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
